The South West Asia Service Ribbon is awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who served in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Southwest Asia between August 2, 1990, and November 30, 1995. It is also awarded for service in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan from September 11, 2001, onwards. This ribbon recognizes the service and contributions of military personnel in these regions during specific operations.
