The 91st Military Police Battalion was constituted on 8 June 1945 in the Army of the United States as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 91st Military Police Battalion. It was activated 13 June 1945 in France, then inactivated 14 October 1945 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. It was again activated on 20 September 1950 in Korea and allotted into the Regular Army on 25 October 1951. The 91st Military Police Battalion was inactivated on 24 June 1955 in Korea, activated 1 August 1962 at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, and inactivated 25 March 1964 at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. On 17 October 2005 the 91st Military Police Battalion is activated at Fort Drum New York to serve as command and control of the 511th Military Police Company the 543rd Military Police Company, and the HHD. On 17 November 2007, the 563rd Military Police Company was reactivated at Fort Drum, New York, and assigned to the 91st Military Police Battalion. On 16 May 2008, the 23rd MP Company was transferred to Fort Drum, NY, and was assigned to the 91st Military Police Battalion.
